Hello fairies and folks!
First of all, let me deeply apologize for not giving the blog some action for a few weeks now. The semester is slowly grinding to a halt and soon I’ll have more time on my hands, I promise. I will be sharing with you tips on maintaining good eyesight. The eyes, they say, are the windows to the soul, so keep those peepers sharp by following these simple steps.
I will be sharing with you tips on maintaining good eyesight; prevention is better than cure. The eyes, they say, are the windows to the soul, so keep those peepers sharp by following these simple steps.
- Eat Well
Really, eating a healthy and balanced diet is one of the simplest things you can do to improve your overall wellbeing. With all the back-breaking work you do, you should treat yourself and be kind to your body! Foods that contain lots of Vitamin A, are important for proper eye function. Load up on sweet potatoes (ahem, Islanders), carrots, fish (hi Catholics!), and leafy greens.
- Don’t Smoke
If humans were meant to smoke, there would be chimneys stationed right on top of our heads! Sadly, or maybe not, that is not the case. People who smoke may be at a much higher risk of developing age-related eye issues.
If smoking is an addiction for you, please seek help.
- Use Bright Light
Study and work only in well-lit areas or in front of moderately bright computer screens. Bright light lifts your mood, keeps you alert, and preserves your vision. Your mother has told you before, she was right.
- Examine Your History
This might be another reason why you should call home more often and be closer to your family. Learn your family history regarding eye disease and check in with your doctor on a regular basis. Don’t let illness sneak up on you.
